welcome to Area Four

Located in the tech-driven Cambridge neighborhood of Area IV, Area Four does double duty as both a bakery/coffeehouse and bar/oven. The bar/oven is open for lunch and dinner Monday through Friday starting at 11:30am, and for dinner Saturday starting at 4:00pm. The menu takes its inspiration from the two custom wood-fired ovens that anchor the restaurant. These ovens produce roasted meat, seafood, vegetables and pizzas – all served directly from “oven to table”--in addition to salads, soups and desserts made from local ingredients.

In much the same way that Area Four’s menu highlights local, organic and sustainable ingredients, the bar features an ever-changing selection of local brews, as well as Boston's first sustainable wine program--all wines are on tap and are available by the glass, by the 1/2 liter or by the liter. We also feature an extensive spirits list with over 30 types of whiskeys, as well as unique and classic cocktails.

Our bakery /coffeehouse is open Monday through Friday 7:00am to 6:00pm, Saturday 9:00am to 6:00pm and Sunday 9:00am to 5:00pm. The bakery/coffee house serves everything from custom espresso drinks from the country’s top coffee roasters and brewed iced teas to fresh baked goods, breakfast sandwiches on homemade English muffins, pizza and salads – both available to stay and to go.  Our full pizza menu is also available in the bakery.

Our House Coffee is from Barrington Roasters (Lee, MA), but we also want to share other exciting experiences that come from the flavors of the bean. So, we started the guest program which is a way to showcase different roasters, origins of coffee and roasting styles from around the world. We switch the guest every 3-4 weeks so that our guests can learn more about coffee.
